PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce failures of a refrigerator using a hydrocarbon refrigerant, which are caused by a defrosting heater. SOLUTION: In this refrigerator comprising the defrosting heater having a radiating member on an outer periphery of a glass tube, securing a clearance between a coiled heater wire and the glass tube, of 0.5 mm or less, keeping a coiled heater wire temperature at an ignition temperature of -100°C or less in hydrocarbon refrigerant when a switching device is set to 100V, and having a surface temperature of the glass tube of 350°C or less, a defrosting circuit is constituted by connecting a control element performing half-wave rectification with the switching device for switching 100V and 200V, and having self-resistance, and the defrosting heater in series, and connected with a compressor in parallel, and the defrosting heater generates heat on the basis of a command from a timer and the like.
