PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image recording quality by preventing the vibration generated when a carrier unit loaded with an ink pen movably guided on a guide shaft made of a sheet metal is moved, in a printer. SOLUTION: The carrier unit 4 loaded with the ink pen 3 is movably guided on the guide shaft 5 which is formed by bending sheet metal and has a slide part 42 which slides on the first and the second plate-like rail parts 51, 52 of the guide shaft 5, an extension part 46 which extends on the side opposite to the slide part 42 holding the guide shaft 5 in between, a coil spring 44 provided to the extension part 46, and a shim 45 which presses the first and the second plate-like rail parts 51, 52 by the urging force of the coil spring 44. The clearance between the slide part 42 and the first and the second plate-like rail parts 51, 52 is eliminated by the reaction force of the urging force of the coil spring 44, suppressing the vibration of the carrier unit 4.
