PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent air trouble during negative pressure steam cooking caused by supplying of steam after an air discharge process. SOLUTION: A steam cooker comprises a cooking chamber 2 for storing food 1 to be cooked, a steam supplying means 3 for the cooking chamber 2, a decompression means 5 for the inside of the cooking chamber 2, and a controller 28 for performing the air discharge process for decompression and air discharge inside the cooking chamber 2 by controlling the steam supplying means 3 and the decompression means 5 and for performing a steam-supply cooking process for steam cooking at a target heating pressure by supplying steam into the cooking chamber 2 after the air discharge process. When the steam supplying means 3 and the decompression means 5 are operated in the steam-supply cooking process to perform the negative pressure steam cooking by controlling inside the cooking chamber 2 at the target heating pressure lower than atmospheric pressure, the controller 28 operates the decompression means 5 for performing forced air discharge operation if pressure inside the cooking chamber 2 reaches the target heating pressure after the completion of the air discharge process.
