PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide granular stone material for controlling germination of plant seeds with which germination of weed is controlled or growth of buds is blocked in order to inhibit growth of the weed or the like. SOLUTION: The granular stone material for controlling germination of plant seeds is produced by burning a single body or a mixture of a mold including a mixture of crushed stones or crushed sand of semidimentary rock or dehydrated cake, and limestone powder, at a high temperature, so as to separate out calcium contained in the burned material on its surface.
