PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium carrier which correctly carries a medium by carrier rollers by correcting deformation of folding or curl in the medium without the need for a fixed type guide plate. SOLUTION: Both ends of a printing medium 11 in a width direction orthogonal to its carrying direction are pressed down by a correcting member 19 or 31 just before the medium is nipped by the carrying rollers 13. Then, even if a deformation of folding or curl occurs at a leading end of the medium 11 in its carrying direction, both ends are nipped by the carrying rollers 13 with the deformation of folding and curl corrected, so that a carrying jam is not generated.
