PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize a position detection device which can reduce sensors to detect the reach of moving portions to the stroke limit. SOLUTION: The position detection unit (position detection device) LS is provided in a turning part 2 of a shaped article ejector, and is equipped with a sensor part 70 loaded with a triaxial acceleration sensor 71 and a processing part 80 having a microcomputer 84. The sensor part 70 detects: vibration of a lifting cylinder 40 for liftably moving an ejection head 5 and a drawing cylinder 30 for retractably moving a lifting arm 4 upon reaching the stroke limit; and inclination of the turning part 2 upon reaching a turning cylinder 20 to the stroke limit. Additionally, the processing part 80 judges the reach to the stroke limit from a detection signal by the sensor part 70. This enables the intensive recognition of the reach of the moving portions such as the ejection head 5, lifting arm 4, and turning part 2 to the stroke limit, so that the drastical reduction of the limit sensors performing direct detection.
