The display has a light source (LQ) with a number of light emitting diodes (LED) that emit white light, and an image generation device (D). A conversion device (K) is formed in such a manner that an ultra violet part of the white light is partially converted into red and/or green light. The conversion device is permeable for the yellow part of the white light. A light steering lens (LLO) is provided downstream to the light source and the conversion device is arranged between the light source and the lens. The conversion device is formed in a laminar manner and covers the lens.
