<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera capable of controlling so that the intention of a user can be properly reflected depending on a result of face recognition, in the condition that a plurality of targets of recognition are photographed in one time. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic camera is provided with an imaging element, a face detecting unit, a recording unit, a face recognizing unit, and a control unit. The imaging element applies photoelectric conversion to an object image photographed by a photographic optical system to generate an image signal. The face detecting unit detects a face region of a photographing screen based on the image signal, and extracts the feature of the face of a photographed person from a portion of the face region. The recording unit records face recognition data previously generated based on the feature of the face of each of registered persons and photographing setting to be applied to photographing of the registered person so that they are correlated. The face recognizing unit determines whether the photographed person is the registered person based on the feature amount extracted by the face detecting unit and the face recognition data. The control unit sets priority of the registered persons and generates photographed image data when the registered persons are photographed, and applies photographing setting corresponding to the person having the highest priority among the registered persons if a plurality of registered persons are detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
