WAVELENGTH CONVERTER, LIGHTING SYSTEM, AND LIGHTING SYSTEM ASSEMBLY

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength converter which uses a semiconductor material consisting of a composition excellent in safety as a replacement of cadmium selenide (CdSe) and has a equivalent to or higher level of conversion efficiency than those converters using CdSe.

SOLUTION: The wavelength converter has phosphor particles dispersed in a transparent matrix, converts the wavelength of the light emitted from a light source, and outputs the output light containing the light whose wavelength is converted. The phosphor comprises an Ag element a group III element consisting of indium or gallium and sulfur, and contains semiconductor fine particles which are substantially free of Cd or Se.
