<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power conversion system that readily obtains amplitude information on load currents, to grasp various events that cannot be recognized with only the effective currents, to enable them to be utilized for the control and protective operation of the loads, and to achieve higher efficiency and improvement in the safety of system. <P>SOLUTION: An electric power conversion system includes a DC voltage portion 11, an inverter 10 having a plurality of arms connected in parallel to the DC voltage portion 11, and a control means for controlling its switching devices on/off, wherein the connecting points of switching devices among each other in the arms are connected to the loads of a synchronous motor 21 or the like. The electric power conversion system monitors the peak value of a DC bus bar current via a peak value computing element 41 and an overcurrent discriminator 42, and controls the switching devices for overcurrent protection and the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
