APPARATUS FOR PREHEATING SCRAP AND PREHEATING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both of compactness and high heat-conductive efficiency of a preheating apparatus by orderly and closely charging a large quantity of mainly press-formed scraps on the furnace hearth in a rotary hearth furnace.

SOLUTION: The preheating apparatus for mainly press-formed iron based scrap is provided with: the rotary hearth furnace; a scrap charging device arranged at the position facing a charging zone in the rotary hearth furnace; and a scrap discharging device after pre-heating arranged at the position facing a discharging zone in the rotary hearth furnace. This charging device is provided with pushers for charging the scraps into the furnace hearth in the above charging zone by pushing out while adjusting the pushing-out distance step by step in the almost right angle direction to the advancing direction of the rotary hearth furnace, in multi-steps in the peripheral direction of the rotary hearth furnace.
