PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist opening operation of a door using a corner sensor for parking. SOLUTION: The vehicle door contact avoiding assistance device is provided with a plurality of sensors on corner parts at a front side and/or at a rear side of a vehicle body respectively, detecting an obstacle opposed to each corner part at at least parking action of the vehicle and outputting a distance of the obstacle and the corner part and a direction from the corner part relative to the obstacle; a position operation part for operating a coordinate value of the obstacle at a predetermined coordinate system from the distance and the direction; a memory part for memorizing the coordinate value of the obstacle as a history; an area setting part for operating an area including an area required for opening of the door of the vehicle body in the predetermined coordinate system or previously memorizing the area; a presumption part for presuming whether or not opening/closing of the door is safe based on the history and the area; and an informing means for informing an occupant of whether or not releasing of the door is safe based on the presumption result of the presumption part.
