PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding apparatus capable of preventing the occurrence of cracks and fractures in a formed body in a process of extracting the formed body from a die, and a molding method. SOLUTION: The molding apparatus 1 is equipped with a control unit 2, a first punch 24, a die 21 having a first surface 21B, and a second punch 34 having a second surface 34A. In the extraction operation from the die 21 of a dielectric formed body 5 from the die 5, the first punch 14 is first slightly moved upward to reduce the pressure to be exerted on a compression molded product 5 to set down to the prescribed pressure. While the pressure to be exerted on a compression molded product 5 is maintained under the prescribed pressure, the first punch 14 and the second punch 34 are moved upward until the second surface 34A of the second punch 34 coincide with the first surface 21B. When control unit 21 judges that the second surface 24A of the second surface 34A coincides with the first surface 21B of the die 21, the control unit drives and controls the first punch 14 by a first driving mechanism 13 such that the pressure acting on the compression molded product 5 reaches zero.
