PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of achieving comfortable air conditioning and energy saving corresponding to demands of a user. SOLUTION: The air conditioner is provided with an indoor unit 1, a movable floor temperature sensor provided in the indoor unit and detecting a floor temperature of a room, a vertical control flap (left side) 201a and a vertical control flap (right side) 201b provided on a blow-out opening of the indoor unit 1 and divided to the right and left, a horizontal control flap (left side) 200a and a horizontal control flap (right side) 200b provided on the blow-out opening of the indoor unit 1 and divided to the right and left, and a remote control 60 having an area specification operating part 60b for having a user specify an area to be sent with an air current. It is characterized by that when an area specification signal is sent from the remote control 60, the indoor unit 1 carries out operation by setting initial values of wind direction and wind speed such that an air current is sent toward the specified area, temperature nonuniformity of the specified area is detected by the floor temperature sensor, and if the temperature nonuniformity exceeds a threshold, correction of the wind direction and the wind speed is carried out.
