PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device provided with a car capable of moving to step over two landings and having a simple structure to facilitate installation and maintenance without requiring a car change on the way. SOLUTION: This elevator device is provided with the car 4 provided in a reverse U-shaped moving passage 10 from the first landing 1 to the second landing 2 via an upper communicating passage 13 to move between the two landings by being guided by a car guide rail device 14, a driving device 19 to move the car 4 and a control device 20 to control the operation of the driving device 19. The driving device 19 has a moving pulley 18 to suspend and support the car 4 on an upper side between the two landings. The moving pulley 18 moves between each upper end part of two hoistways in the communicating passage 13 of the moving passage 10 to move the car 4 in the horizontal direction in the communicating passage 13 and move the car 4 between the two hoistways.
