PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid recovering device which can smoothly recover a plurality of kinds of liquids which are discharged from a discharging port and have qualities being different from each other. SOLUTION: This liquid recovering device 37 is equipped with a waste ink tank 32 which recovers a pigment ink and a dye ink which are respectively discharged from a first discharging port 30a and a second discharging port 31a of a liquid discharging passage. The waste ink tank 32 is equipped with a first ink recovering chamber 33 and a second ink recovering chamber 34 which respectively correspond to the first discharging port 30a and the second discharging port 31a. Then, in the liquid discharging passage, a switching valve 29 which switches the passage to the first discharging port 30a side (the first ink recovering chamber 33 side) when the ink to be discharged is the pigment ink, and switches the passage to the second discharging port 31a side (the second ink recovering chamber 34 side) when the ink to be discharged is the dye ink is provided.
