PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electret material having a high trap electric charge amount, and excellent in insulation, electrostatic property and flame resistance. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the flame resistant electret sheet material consisting of a thermoplastic resin, especially a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a polyester resin and an alkyl phosphinic compound having a functional group (for example, a carboxylic group, carboxylic ester group, hydroxyl group, cyclic acid anhydride group) so that the copolymer has 500-20,000 ppm of the phosphorus content.
