PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom system capable of executing automatic answering and automatic recording depending on the status of a person in home and according to the intention of the person in home. SOLUTION: The intercom system is provided with a door intercom slave set provided with a speaker, a microphone and a camera; and a door intercom master set 6 used for voice communication with the visitor through the door intercom slave set and provided with a display section 7 for displaying image information photographed by the camera. The door intercom master set 6 is provided with an in-home table generating means for generating the in-home table of the dwellers; an automatic recording executing means capable of recording the voice message of the visitor and reproducing it; and a storing section 51 capable of storing the voice message of the visitor. If the in-home table displays no person in home, the master set 6 shifts to an automatic recording mode after transmitting an automatic response message, and the automatic recording executing means records the voice message of the visitor.
