PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom master unit used in an intercom system configured by connecting the intercom master unit to two or more intercom slave units that utilize general-purpose intercom slave units. SOLUTION: The intercom master unit 1 includes: two or more of slave unit connection terminals 17 to which the intercom slave units 2 are removably connected; a drive voltage control section 19 for applying a drive voltage of the intercom slave unit 2 to each of the slave unit connection terminals 17; a current detection section 16 for detecting a supply current to the intercom slave units 2 by each of the slave unit connection terminals 17; and a memory 15 for storing a connection state of the intercom slave unit 21 to each of the slave unit connection terminals 17 as registration information, and the drive voltage is determined by each of the slave unit connection terminals 17 on the basis of the registration information in the memory 15. Thus, the general-purpose intercom slave unit 2 having no exclusive function such as an identification number transmission reception function, is connected to the slave unit connection terminals 17 of the intercom master unit 1, and the connection state is automatically detected and registered.
