PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology whereby a circuit configuration of a receiver side can be simplified by contriving the arrangement of pixel data outputted from columns of a CMOS image sensor in an addition read mode to be a data arrangement processable by the receiver side circuit. SOLUTION: A solid-state imaging element includes a horizontal transfer circuit connected to an imaging section wherein a plurality of pixels 32 are two-dimensionally arranged, the horizontal transfer circuit is provided with A/D converters each corresponding to each column of the pixels, an output side of the A/D converter of each column is connected to any of a plurality of bus wirings 41 (411, 412, 413, 414) arranged in parallel, and when combinations of outputs for signal addition exceed number of simultaneously transferable data, dummy signals 0 not contributing to the addition are inserted to transfer data to convert the data arrangement into an arrangement to be easily summed.
