PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric current for power supply by rectifying/smoothing a request signal while reducing electric power consumption by using the electric current for power supply to drive a part or the whole of an encoder circuit. SOLUTION: An encoder device has a structure wherein a rectification circuit 20 and a smoothing circuit 21 are connected to a line receiver 8 with the request signal 5 inputted thereinto and the request signal 5 is converted into the electric current 1 for power supply for driving a part or the whole of the encoder circuit 3.
