METHOD OF IDENTIFYING COMPOUNDS INHIBITING DDX39

[PROBLEMS] To clarify the relationship between DDX39 and a disease and the functions of DDX39 to thereby provide a method of identifying a compound which inhibits the functions of DDX39 and a method of examining a disease with the use of a means of detecting DDX39. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A method of identifying any one of the following compounds capable of controlling the functions of DDX39: a compound inhibiting the nucleoside triphosphatase (NTPase) activity of DDX39; a compound inhibiting the RNA helicase activity of DDX39; a compound inhibiting the RNA-binding activity of DDX39; a compound inhibiting an activity of enhancing the above binding which is exerted by a nucleotide or a nucleotide analog; and a compound inhibiting the biding of DDX39 to a nonhydrolyzable nucleotide analog; an NTPase activity inhibitor and an RNA helicase inhibitor containing any one of the above compounds; and a method of identifying a cancer tissue with the use of a means of detecting the expression of DDX39 gene.
