<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a dynamic range of A/D conversion cannot be utilized effectively, quantization noise becomes large, and image quality deteriorates in a conventional infrared imaging device if A/D conversion of an analog image pick-up signal including fixed pattern noise is carried out, since the value of the fixed pattern noise is large in relation to variation of an output signal due to object's temperature variation. <P>SOLUTION: An analog video signal (G8) of one frame delayed is subtracted from an image pick-up signal (G2) (3), and A/D conversion (5) is applied to the resulting differential signal (G3).
