PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save a space by making a switching mechanism such as a switching valve unnecessary. SOLUTION: A pressure in a charge tank 26 and air paths 24M, 24C, 24B, 24Y and 27 is raised by rotating an air pump 25 for a fixed time when positive-pressure recovery is performed. Thereafter, the pressure is applied to ink in nozzles of a printing head 14 by opening electromagnetic opening and closing valves for pressure application 31M, 31C, 31B and 31Y for a fixed time. After the lapse of the fixed time, the electromagnetic opening and closing valves 31M, 31C, 31B and 31Y are closed, while an electromagnetic valve for atmosphere release 29 is opened, thereby releasing pressurized air in the charge tank 26.
