PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary switch having a long life by alleviating wear of a click mechanism for obtaining a click feeling. SOLUTION: The rotary switch comprises a rotor 9 capable of rotation, a housing 2 having a hollow part 2a to house rotatably a part of this rotor 9, a fixed contact 4 arranged in the hollow part 2a, a movable contact 8 which is installed on the rotor 9 and can contact and separate from the fixed contact 4, and a cover member 10 which covers over the hollow part 2a of the housing 2. A click mechanism in which click feeling is obtained accompanied with rotation of the rotor 9 is arranged over the hollow part 2a of the housing 2. The click mechanism is constructed of an elastic member 11 and a cover member 10 respectively made of metal plate, and a plurality of click generating parts 10c in which click feeling is obtained as the elastic member 11 rotating together with the rotor 9 slides on them is formed on the cover member 10.
