It is intended to provide a process for efficiently producing a corresponding amide compound from a nitrile compound via a reaction with the use of nitrile hydratase, and a process for producing an amide-based polymer having excellent qualities from the amide compound as described above. It is also intended to provide a process for more efficiently producing acrylamide with a higher grade by using a microbial catalyst or the like containing nitrile hydratase, and a process for producing an acrylamide-based polymer, which is excellent in color hue, establishes both of a high water solubility and a high molecular weight and has excellent qualities, by using the above-described acrylamide.
