The punch has a stationary shaft (5) connected with a tool holder, and a movable shaft (6) supported at the stationary shaft in a longitudinally adjustable manner. A motor drive is provided in a hand grip for displacing the movable shaft from a proximal rest position to a distal operating position using a preset feed force. The movable shaft supports a stop unit that is attached to a coil spring, when the movable shaft is displaced to the operating position. The coil spring is supported at the stationary shaft, where the feed force of the drive counteracts during displacement of the movable shaft.
