A pallet is described having upper and lower pallet portions, each of which has a respective engagement element for engagement with the other element through a relative rotational or lateral movement of the upper and lower pallet portions. In one embodiment, the upper and/or the lower pallet portion is arranged to flex during the engagement process to allow the engagement of secondary engagement elements.
