Railway station platform partly constructed from precast concrete parts for illuminating a platform edge has LED lighting devices

A railway station platform has recesses (12) close to the platform's edge (5) where encapsulated LEDs are inserted with their surface flush to the concourse level (13). The LEDs link via cabling (8) to a source (9) of power and a switch device. The recess is shaped into a concourse slab (3) and ready molded. Slabs set alongside each other form a continuous channel with their recesses. An independent claim is also included for an LED lighting unit for a railway station platform.
