A pair of retainers (4), each aided into partly locked condition by a guide, is disposed within the opposing edges of the opening of a center console (1). Each retainer has a circular arc recess (9) at the front edge (10). The periphery of a beverage container, placed into the console, is laterally supported by the recesses. Furthermore, each retainer has a rearwardly bent edge extended towards the base (2) of the console to support another item e.g. a mobile phone, put in the console.
