The present invention belongs to the technical field of pesticide and relates to pesticide and method for controlling rice bakanae disease. The pesticide of the invention consists of aluminum sulfate, surfactant, the amount of which corresponds to 5-21wt% of the former, and appropriate amount of water. Aluminum sulfate acts as the active ingredient and the carrier of the pesticide is fillers or water. The invention controls the rice bakanae disease with the simple inorganic compound, by which the advantages of safe without pollution and low residue level can be obtained. The controlling efficiency reaches to about 85% for rice bakanae disease with the product and the method and the negative effects after immersing the seeds can not be observed.
