UNIAXIALLY ORIENTED HYDROGEL

Disclosed is a hydrogel wherein fibers constituting the gel are three-dimensionally and uniaxially oriented. Also disclosed are a method for producing such a hydrogel and a use of such a hydrogel. Specifically disclosed is a hydrogel wherein fibers or fiber bundles constituting the gel are uniaxially oriented. Also disclosed is a method for producing a hydrogel wherein fibers or fiber bundles constituting the gel are uniaxially oriented, which method comprises a step for preparing a hydrogel composed of fibers or fiber bundles and another step for uniaxially stretching the hydrogel. Further disclosed is a cell cultivation method using such a hydrogel.
