PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for operating a reverse osmosis membrane without using power, by which drinking water can be secured in an emergency, for example, when meeting with a disaster even if the supply of city water is stopped and the power supply is cut off. SOLUTION: Purified water is obtained by making the water, which is pressurized by a gravity feed system and a manual pump system with a suction/pressure tank, pass through the reverse osmosis membrane. The amount of the purified water to be obtained is slightly smaller in comparison with the case that city water or a pressure pump is used. The absolute minimum amount of drinking water, which is 2 liters per person-day for about 5 days as a standard, can be secured when meeting with the disaster.
