PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television set which improves visibility of video images in channel selection or video image change. SOLUTION: The television set is provided with: a tuner 12 for extracting a video audio signal Sa of a channel selected by a channel selection operation; and a control section 21 for causing a display section 17 to display a video image based on the video audio signal Sa extracted by the tuner 12, and also to display information related to a video image to be displayed after a channel selection operation together with the video image when the channel selection operation is performed. When the same channel is selected at a plurality of times within a predetermined time by the channel selection operation, the control section 21 shortens an information display time in second selection and after that out of the plurality of times, compared with the first selection.
