PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push type switch device capable of saving a space and reducing cost by achieving excellent transmitting illumination of a design display part and and indicator part with a light source without using two light sources or a light shield plate, etc. SOLUTION: In this push type switch device 1 in which a switch element is turned on/off according to a pressing/non-pressing state of an operation button 2, luminance of an LED 3 is increased so that the indicator part 7b is illuminated with transmitted light through a light transmission limiting member 8 when the switch element is ON according to the pressing state of the operation button 2 and the luminance of the LED 3 is lowered or made zero so that the indicator part 7b is not illuminated with transmitted light through the light transmission limiting member 8 when the switch element is OFF according to the non-pressing state of the operation button 2.
