PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element in which a high brightness is obtained even at a low voltage and a light-weighted and thin-type large screen display with low power consumption can be realized at a low cost. SOLUTION: This is the light-emitting element which includes the light-emitting layer and an electrode which applies an electric field to the light-emitting layer, the main components of the light-emitting layer are composed of a first sulfide to show a light emitting wavelength of the visible region and zinc sulfide, the concentration of the first sulfide is not homogeneous, and which is composed of a microregion where the concentration of the first sulfide is not homogeneous, and composed of the peripheral region in the periphery of the microregion where the concentration of the first sulfide is low.
