PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a location detecting device capable of detecting the location of an object to be detected with high accuracy, and to provide an EGR sensor that has the same. SOLUTION: The location detecting device comprises an operation shaft 20 capable of moving linearly in an axial direction; a rotor 40 for converting the linear movement into a rotation movement; a transmission member for transmitting the linear movement of the operation shaft 20 to the rotor 40, and a magnetic sensor for detecting the amount of rotation of the rotor 40. For instance, the transmission member is constituted of a traction member 60 that pulls the operation shaft 20, in response to the rotation movement of the rotor 40. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
