PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear projection screen and a rear projection display which attains high view angle and high contrast and can reduce the cost. SOLUTION: The rear projection screen comprises a Fresnel lens sheet, a light diffusive sheet, and a front plate arrayed in order from a video light source side to an observer side, at least the Fresnel lens sheet, light diffusive sheet, and front plate being constituted independently of one another. The light diffusive sheet has such a structure that an ultraviolet-ray setting resin layer (1) is formed on the opposite side from a lens part of the lens sheet, a light shield layer is formed on the ultraviolet-ray setting resin layer (1) in a region except an opening part where nearly parallel light is made incident from the lens part side, and further an ultraviolet-ray setting layer (2) is formed on the light shield layer, wherein the ultraviolet-ray setting resin layer (1) and ultraviolet-ray setting resin layer (2) are made of the same material, and the ultraviolet-ray setting resin layer (2) contains a diffusing material.
