摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical fuel cell controlling reactant transport toward an electrocatalyst layer. <P>SOLUTION: The electrochemical fuel cell contains a pair of separator plates 34 having facing main planes; a pair of facing cathode separator plates 36; a membrane-like electrolyte arranged between the anode separator plate 34 and the cathode separator 36; an anode substrate arranged between the anode separator plate 34 and the membrane-like electrolyte, and having an anode inlet portion adjoined to a fuel inflow port and an anode outlet portion adjoined to a fuel outflow port; and a cathode substrate arranged between the cathode separator plate 36 and the membrane-like electrolyte, and having a cathode inlet adjoined to an oxidant inflow port and a cathode outlet adjoined to an oxidant outflow port; and at least one of the anode substrate and the cathode substrate has in-plane ununiform structure in an electrochemically active portion in order to make the movement of fluid ununiform between the inlet and the outlet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
