<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect an airbag from an outside environment, and to smoothly deploy the airbag, in a pedestrian protecting device deploying the airbag from a rear end portion of a vehicular hood. <P>SOLUTION: A lower side shell 42 is watertightly joined to a lower side of an upper side shell 41 integrally formed with a cowl top cover 8, thereby structuring an airbag storage portion 44. A tear line 48 and a to-be-door portion 47 are formed on the upper side shell 41. A soft cowl inner 24 is disposed on the airbag storage portion 44. A door reinforcing portion 56 of the cowl inner 24 is welded to the to-be-door portion 47.
