<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impose copy limitations by recording media where digital contents are recorded and to prevent digital contents from illegally being used. <P>SOLUTION: A deciphering circuit 21 deciphers digital contents processed by first ciphering, a deciphering circuit 22 performs second ciphering for the deciphered digital contents, and an HDD 15 stores the digital contents processed by the second ciphering. A content management section 23 limits uses of the digital contents by kinds of recording media 18-1 to 18-n, based on content management information having pieces of information by the recording media 18-1 to 18-n where stored digital contents are recorded.
