PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the display quality and reliability of a liquid crystal display device which has a color filter and an organic resin film which are apt to produce gas by preventing gas from being produced by the color filter after liquid crystal injection to form an air bubble in a cell. SOLUTION: The cell is formed by sticking a color filter substrate 9 and a counter substrate 16 together with a sealing material 3 and then the cell is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to partly remove a degenerating layer present on the top surface of an overcoat film 6 of the color filter 9, and then liquid crystal 4 is injected into the cell after water in the cell is sufficiently removed by performing a heat treatment in a pressure reduced state to manufacture the liquid crystal display device.
