PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve blowing performance and to reduce turbulent flow noise while effectively suppressing back flow by devising the shape of a tongue part of a fan casing. SOLUTION: This multiblade centrifugal blower is composed of the scroll type fan casing 1 having the tongue part 5, and a multiblade centrifugal impeller 2. The rotating direction position of the tongue part 5 of the fan casing 1 is formed to gradually move in the rotating direction of the impeller 2 from the suction port 7 side to the main plate 8 side in the impeller 2 to suppress back flow into the impeller 2 over the whole area from the suction port 7 side to the main plate 8 side in the impeller 2.
