PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated paper being bulky even when thickness of a coated layer is thin, having low glossiness of white paper and high printing glossiness and further having high coatability of the coated layer. SOLUTION: The coated paper having the coated layer is formed by applying a coating agent mainly consisting of a pigment and an adhesive to at least either surface of front and back surfaces of a base material. The coated paper has≤20% glossiness of white paper and≥30% difference between the glossiness of white paper and printing glossiness, and the coated layer has average 5-12μm thickness and the density of the coated paper has 0.7-0.9 g/cm<SP>3</SP>.
