PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-cooling device of a hot-dipped steel wire capable of excellently solidifying a plating layer and enhancing the cooling efficiency by continuously cooling the hot-dipped steel wire without degrading the cooling efficiency by one air-cooling device. SOLUTION: The air-cooling device 40 of a hot-dipped steel wire 10 in a hot-dipped steel wire manufacturing apparatus 1 comprises: one passing and cooling passage 47 for passing the hot-dipped steel wire 10 therein; a plurality of stages of air-cooling chambers 41, 42 which are spaced along the cooling passage 47 and provided with an air outlet for blowing out air into the cooling passage 47. The cooling passage 47 on the downstream side of an air pressure chamber 42 on the second and subsequent stages has an outside air introduction passage for sucking the outside air and introducing it into the cooling passage 47 by the air blown out of the air pressure chamber 42.
