PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide soft jelly-like chocolate confectionery having deliciousness and soft palate feeling inherited from chocolate, prevented from separation of fat content from water content with a safe material, and to provide a method for producing the chocolate confectionery. SOLUTION: The chocolate confectionery 1 contains arrowroot starch and a gelling agent. The method for producing the chocolate confectionery comprises melting arrowroot starch and a gelling agent in water followed by heating, mixing the product with chocolate which is separately emulsified and heated.
