It is possible to provide a stator position adjusting device and an adjusting method capable of accurately and rapidly adjusting a stator position with respect to a rotor axis. In a state that the stator (S) is contained in a motor case (MC), the stator (S) is supported in the axial direction of a rotor (R), and the rotor (R) is not inserted into the stator (S), adjustment instruments (5, 6) supported by the shaft support of the rotor (R) as a reference with respect to the motor case (MC) are used to adjust the position of the stator (S) with respect to the axis of the rotor (R).
