PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing device capable of keeping operability without causing incompatibility, preventing a release operation from being erroneously performed, and reducing the occurrence of camera shake. SOLUTION: A digital camera 2 is provided with a photographing preparation button 16 to perform photographing preparation when it is depressed under a photographing mode, and a photosensor 17 to perform photographing when light from a light emitting element 26 is reflected by a finger and made incident on a light receiving element 27 by holding up the finger while depressing the photographing preparation button 16. When the finger is held up over the photosensor 17 while operating and depressing the photographing preparation button 16, photographing is performed. Since photographing is performed by such operation in non-contact with a camera body 3 that the finger is held up over the photosensor 17, camera shake in the midst of exposure is restrained.
