PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver set to a standby state at a preset time so as to quickly display a video image when a power is turned on. SOLUTION: The broadcast receiver includes: a display means for displaying the video image; a first power supply circuit for controlling the power of the display means; a reception means for receiving a video signal and supplying the video signal to the display means; a second power supply circuit for controlling the power of the reception means; a reservation means for setting a time at which the second power supply circuit is brought into an operating state; and a power supply control means for controlling the first power supply circuit in response to a prescribed entry operation and controlling the second power supply circuit in response to the time set by the reservation means.
