PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat radiator capable of efficiently and evenly cooling a plurality of LEDs used for a backlight of a thin display device. SOLUTION: The radiator is equipped with a plurality of heat pipes 2 aligned in a vertical direction. The heat pipe 2 consists of a flat hollow container 7 long in a right-left direction and thick in a front-rear direction and operation liquid 8 enclosed in the container 7. In the container 7 of the heat pipe 2, a hollow circuit 9 having a lower part 9a extending in the right-left direction and a high part 9c continuing from both right and left end parts of the lower part 9a are formed. A heat transfer action part 10 is provided by enclosing the operation liquid in the hollow circuit 9. A part in the heat transfer action part 10 corresponding to the lower part 9a of the hollow circuit 9 is provided as an evaporation part 13 and a part corresponding to the high part 9c is provided as a condensation part 14. The enclosing quantity of the operation liquid 8 is appropriate as a liquid level is in the low part 9a of the hollow circuit 9 while not in operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
